Project must involve the Lancashire and South Cumbria (LSC) population
Must have a Project Lead or Co-Lead employed within an NHS organisation in LSC
Must have access to:
Administrative support
Research resources and facilities
Capability to deliver the project prior to release of funds

Must demonstrate originality, including:
Addressing an urgent or emerging health need
Clear patient benefit
Use of new technology or a novel concept requiring further validation
Must be:
Surgical in nature, OR
Impact patients undergoing cancer surgery
Must include:
Patient and public involvement (PPIE)
Consideration of health equity throughout the project designIdeas related to Surgery within:
HPB
UGI
Colorectal
General Surgery
Emergency Surgery

Project must be completed within 2 years
Must present annual interim findings at subsequent SILASC conferences

If total project cost exceeds £20,000:
Applicants must provide evidence of additional funding sources
